Hy Cohen – Boer War
Hy Cohen’s father left Russia at 11 years old and ended up in London where he later joined the British Army. He deployed to South Africa where has was captured by Boers and sent back to London. He ended up being picked up by the Press Gang there and was forced into the Navy.
